FIREWORKS AND EXPLOSIVES ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
The Bureau's mission is to oversee the regulatory responsibilities of the 43 firework wholesalers, 10 fireworks manufacturers, 19 fireworks shippers, and over 1,000 licensed exhibitors, registered assistants, and flame effect technicians regulated by the Division of State Fire Marshal. The unit oversees:
- Fireworks wholesalers
- Fireworks manufacturers
- Fireworks shippers
- Fireworks Exhibitor License
- Fireworks Registered Assistant
- Flame Effect License
- Explosive magazine storage
The Fireworks and Explosive Unit is funded through an assessment of fire insurance premiums sold in Ohio. Additional funding is derived from licensure and renewal fees.
