Charity Robl

Charity Robl is an Assistant Director at the Ohio Department of Commerce. In this role she oversees the administrative operations of the Department including the Communications, Fiscal, General Services, Human Resources, Information Technology and Legal sections. These operational sections support the Director’s priorities and the work of Commerce’s seven programmatic divisions.

Charity is an attorney with experience in both the private and public sectors. Before joining Commerce, she worked at the Ohio Department of Medicaid and the Ohio Attorney General’s Office where she progressively advanced, serving first as an Assistant Attorney General, then as a unit supervisor in the Health and Human Services section, and later as an Assistant Section Chief in the Charitable Law section. In that role, Charity became immersed in operational leadership, especially process improvement and human resources. Prior to her transition to the public sector, Charity served as in-house counsel at an insurance company in Columbus and as a defense attorney at a Dayton, Ohio law firm.

Charity has a bachelor’s degree in English with Honors and High Distinction from George Mason University and a Juris Doctor from The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. She also holds academic certificates in Alternative Dispute Resolution and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in the Workplace.
