David Bowling
David Bowling has served as Deputy Chief Legal Counsel to the Ohio Department of commerce since January of 2019. In that role he works directly with the Chief Legal Counsel to oversee legal issues for the Department’s seven Divisions and Ohio’s Medical Marijuana Control Program, as well as provide direct legal advice to the Director. Additionally, David manages all legal aspects of procurement for the Department. Prior to his current role he served as Elections Counsel from 2014 to 2019 to former Secretary of State and current Lt. Governor Jon Husted. He began his legal career practicing criminal defense in the Dayton and Cincinnati Area.

David graduated from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in Political Science. He also received his Juris Doctor from the University of Dayton College of Law.
