Board of Building Appeals
The Ohio Board of Building Appeals (BBA) consists of five (5) board members who are appointed by the Governor with the consent of the Senate. The board members consist of an Attorney, Architect, Engineer, Fire Service and Plumber/Pipefitter.
The board conducts 119 administrative appeal hearings 3 days per month. The appeals are made from adjudication orders or citations issued by:
- Any certified building department; state, county or local
- Bureau of Operations and Maintenance; boiler and elevator section
- Fire Citations (OFC) issued by the State Fire Marshal's office or any local fire department with a certified fire safety inspector.
The board may reverse, modify or uphold an order of the enforcing agency.
