Change in Park Ownership

Manufactured home park operator licenses are not transferable. If a manufactured home park is transferred or sold, the new manufactured home park operator must apply for a manufactured home park operator license in their own name within thirty (30) days of transfer.

The Division of Industrial Compliance recommends that current park operators and/or new or future owners notify the Division of the transfer as soon as it occurs or even beforehand. The Division will provide the new or future owner with instructions on how to apply for a manufactured home park operator license in the new owner's name and how to get set up in the eLicense Portal to manage the license moving forward. By doing so, it will ensure that the Division has the most up-to-date information on the park operator so that Division communications about the park (e.g., license renewal notifications, park inspection reports) go to the right party.

Notifications of transfers should be sent to: mhprogram@com.ohio.gov. Please make sure you provide the Division with as much contact information as possible about the new owner (e.g., name, e-mail address, phone number, etc.).
