The Ohio Department of Commerce licenses and regulates cultivators, processors, and testing laboratories. The Department's highest priority is patient safety. The medical marijuana product is grown and manufactured in facilities that are highly regulated. For example, each licensed facility is under video surveillance, with multiple in-person inspections occurring throughout the year to ensure compliance. Additionally, licensees are required to track products in the MMCP’s seed-to-sale system, METRC.

At this time, the Ohio Department of Commerce is not accepting applications for medical marijuana licenses.
