Out of State Home Inspectors who qualify (see this link for qualifying states) may apply for an Ohio home inspector license by completing the out of state license application.

Individuals seeking to provide home inspection services for compensation in Ohio must be licensed before providing such services.  You will need to download and complete this application.

Your completed application, attached materials and payment should be mailed to:

These options are currently the only two options to submit your license application to the Division.

Do not submit your completed application and attached materials separately from your payment. Your completed application, attached materials, and payment should be submitted together to the Division.

The Division accepts payment of your application fee in the form of a check or a money order. Payment should be made out to the Ohio Division of Real Estate.

Criminal background checks are required for your license application. Each applicant is required to complete a criminal records check of both state (Ohio) and FBI records upon submitting the completed license application.

Remember to include with your application copies of your current certificate of liability insurance you received from your insurer.
