Checklist of Documentation

The Ohio Division of Unclaimed Funds reserves the right to request additional evidence on all claims and has sole discretion to determine the sufficiency of documentation to allow payment. 

Claimant Relationship Descriptions

Owner: Single owner property where the individual claimant has all rights to the property.
Joint Owner: A property with multiple reported owners entitled to the funds.
Heir: Property belonging to a deceased original owner.
Trust: A property reported in the name of a trust.
Business: The original owner of property is a corporation, partnership or sole proprietorship. Business claims include corporations, limited liability companies (LLC’s), partnerships, sole proprietorships, not-for-profit organizations and all other similar entities, as well as entities now in bankruptcy or dissolved/defunct, etc.
Government: Properties reported in the name of a state, county or government entity, college, university or school district.
International: The claimant or property owner is a foreign citizen or person that lives in another country.
