Reporting Funds

Any company doing business in the State of Ohio must report unclaimed funds, per the Ohio Revised Code 169.03 A(1) on an annual basis.

Contact the Fund Owner Before Filing

Per Ohio Revised Code 169.03 E, allow a minimum of thirty (30) days for the owner or beneficiary to respond to the notice prior to reporting their funds as unclaimed

Three Easy Steps

  1. Identify dormant accounts of $50 or more
  2. Mail an OUF-8 Notice to the fund owner(s). Please include a self-address stamped envelope in your request.
  3. If no response is received, file a report after waiting 30 days

All businesses in the State of Ohio are subject to an audit if there is no report.

If a business has no unclaimed funds to report, they are required to file a None (Zero) Report.

The State of Ohio offers a Voluntary Disclosure Agreement in which the company can voluntarily report funds for prior years. Please note that a company under examination by the State or its representatives is not eligible for the program.
