• The SFM has filed an errata package with the Joint Committee on Agency Rule Review (JCARR) to correct filing and typographical errors in specific rules. OFC paragraphs 320 (regarding mobile food units) and 906.1 (regarding portable fire extinguishers) are also being amended.

2017 Ohio Fire Code Training

The State Fire Marshal hosted live training courses throughout the state in March and April 2018. The training focused on new code enforcement processes, updated special provisions of the OFC and important national model code changes that have been incorporated into the new 2017 Ohio Fire Code.

The information that was presented at those live training sessions has been converted into free online training modules that are hosted on the Ohio Fire Academy’s 24/7 platform. The 6 online modules meet the requirement for fire inspector continuing education and provide an overview of the changes from the previous Ohio Fire Code.
